Lord Caitanya is Krishna Himself accepting the mood of Radharani. In Caitanya Bhagavat and Caitanya Mangal they pose a question – Who came first Lord Caitanya or Radha & Krishna?
rädhä kåñëa-praëaya-vikåtir hlädiné çaktir asmäd ekätmänäv api bhuvi purä deha-bhedaà gatau tau
The One supreme absolute truth became two for the sake of loving relationships, for the sake of supreme pleasure. He was one again as Lord Caitanya who is Krishna with the complexion and loving sentiments of Srimati Radharani. So is the one Lord Caitanya, did He come after Radha and Krishna? This is something nobody could answer, because the yugas come in cycles. It’s a circle, so in a circle which part is first, it’s very difficult to understand.
Krishna comes once in a day of Brahma and in each yuga He appears as Lila avatars. Then in the same Kaliyuga Krishna appears as Lord Caitanya to taste the nectar of the love of Sri Radha.
