Lord Caitanya worships Govardhan

When Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu came to Govardhan, He ran and embraced the first stone that He saw. He embraced Him with so much devotion and affection, His eyes were streaming tears of love.

Govardhan is non-different from Krishna. His body is Krishna’s body there is absolutely no difference. But our acaryas warn us that we should never remove any Govardhan sila from Govardhan hill unless we are paramahamsas or unless it’s specifically under the orders and blessings of the acaryas.

Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was seeing Krishna’s three fold bending form with all His opulence in each of these silas. He did the parikrama of Giriraj, following in the footsteps of His paramguru Madhavenrda Puri. One sannyasi gave Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu a Govardhan sila. When Lord Caitanya was living in Jagannath Puri, He wore that sila over His heart around His neck and was constantly wet with His tears.
