By the Lord’s inconceivable arrangement, Vasudeva took baby Krishna to Gokul and left him with Yashoda mayi. Meanwhile Yogamaya appeared as the younger sister of Krishna. Vasudeva put the little boy on the bed and took Yogamaya away. Vasudeva came back to the prison and the shackles that he was freed of, by the power of Yogamaya fastened again. The doors locked by themselves and all the guards woke up. Kamsa who was immediately notified, ran down and picked up the baby girl to smash her to death. But the little girl slipped from his hands and manifested an eight-armed form of Durga. She spoke to Kamsa, “You are a fool. You do not know that the child that is going to kill you is already born somewhere else.” After saying this she disappeared. Kamsa became sober and fell at Devaki and Vasudeva’s feet, repenting for his acts. Vasudeva and Devaki knew that Kamsa’s repentance would not last long because Kamsa was in the association of envious people who would corrupt his mind again.

Thanks for sharing wonderful pastimes of Lord Krishna’s birth with beautiful picture.
True! Kamsa’s repentance was temporary! real repentance is not to commit the mistake again.
Nice lesson. Thank you Radhanath Swami
Association makes or breaks a person……….
Wonderful lesson from this story. Envious people like Kamsa can never be trusted even if they show mercy at some point of time. We can trust only those people who have taken shelter at the divine Lotus feet of the Lord and His devotees. Thank you Radhanath Swami Maharaj for this message.
Very true. Consciousness of those who associate with demoniac people is bound to degrade.
Thank you Radhanath Swami Maharaj for this wonderful message.
“In association of envious people repentance of committing sinful activities does not last long.”
Very nice. Thank you very much Radhanath Swami for this lesson.
yes a very nice lession indeed.
very interesting how Devaki and Vasudev already knew that repentance of Kamsa would not long too much. Worth learning a lesson.
Yes i do agree
We should learn lesson from Kamsa’s repentance. Our repentance should not be shallow, it should be genuine.
This is a very interesting fact. I never knew that kamsa had repented at this point of time in such a way. Thanks to HH Radhanath Swami and his team for bringing out such subtle points and making us aware of our glorius history in great details. This can help us individually and as a society to learn from our history.
