Radhanath Swami on Nitai’s Mercy

Radhanath Swami on Nitai's Mercy

One day Jiva told his mother that he was going to visit some relatives in one of their ancestral homes. When he came out of their sight he fled to Navadwip. There he was introduced to Lord Nityananda in Srivas’s home. Lord Nityananda embraced him and offered to take him on a personal tour of the nine islands of Navadwip dham. First He brought him to yoga pitha where Lord Caitanya appeared and performed His pastimes for the first 24 years of His life as Navadwipa Chandra. Then He took Jiva to Sacidevi and Vishnupriya who were happy to meet Jiva. They felt Lord Caitanya was sending a very special, personal associate of His, for them to serve. Sacimata cooked with her own loving hands, served them and then shared Gaur katha. Nityananda Prabhu took Jiva Goswami from place to place. Not only was He telling Jiva Gosvami the Lord’s lilas but he was lifting the curtain of the dham and actually showing him the Lord’s eternal pastimes of Navadwip Dham. Our beloved acarya Srila Bhakti Vinod Thakura has recorded the essence of this parikrama in his book ‘Navadwipa Dham Mahatmaya’. At the end of this parikrama Nityananda Prabhu told Jiva Goswami, “Lord Caitanya has given Sri Vrindavan dham to your family. You should go to Vrindavan and dedicate the rest of your life in service of Rupa Goswami and Sanatana Goswami.”
